And you see... unlike Sybil, my cholesterol, glucose and other "lifestyle indicator" tests came back perfectly normal (I am mostly vegetarian). I'm also overweight so being fat doesn't mean you automatically get the fat people diseases, it really is about your lifestyle. Are you eating pigs feet and packaged strawberry cake, or do you eat real food, not just vegetables for 5 days after your test results scare you into it, but on a consistent basis? Sybil's problem is in her perceptions. She prepares the most vile, fatty, disgusting, meat-filled, cuisine constantly and thinks the salsa will save her.
I'm working on my weight because at my age, any extra poundage is painful on my joints, especially now that I've been informed, that like Sybil, I have an immune system disease. No, I'm not the victim of a virus, but right now my body is acting like I am a virus and trying to kill me!
I've been diagnosed with lupus and possibly a combo of rheumatoid arthritis. You should see how swollen my eyes and face are today, it sucks. Goddammit am I thankful for medical marijuana in this state!!!
It's bad enough now that the drugs they have been using to try to slap my immune system down, prednisone, isn't working so great so the next step now are the CHEMOTHERAPY DRUGS. :-(
Plus, I've been attempting to WORK through this whole thing. I can't stay and type on the computer too long because I get vertigo very easy now.
So I am here to tell all of you, as a person with an immune system disease, just like Sybil, life is uncomfortable right now, and unlike Sybil, I can't qualify for any free medical care, so I must take proactive steps to do everything on my end to TRY to help myself, including changing out my diet to get rid of any possible allergenic foods like wheat, corn, milk, eggs. I don't have any control over my immune disease, but I can try, and must try, everything in my power, not missing any possible items that could be enhancing the immune system's response right now.
Sometimes I think it sure would be nice to get to fuck off like Sybil does. Eat what you want!! Do whatever the fuck you want! But when you have to pay for your own healthcare, it's a lot different...
And NO SYMPATHY either, please... :-) It sucks, yes, I'm fucking sick as hell, yes, but I'm not here to complain, I'm actually trying to do something now on my own end with allergenic food removal to HELP MYSELF, I don't need sympathy or pity. :-)
