ReplyDeleteI looked through the earlier posts on this blog and I couldn't seem to find an origin for your hatred. Maybe I missed it somehow. I mean, you guys are pretty harsh. He is a human being. I don't blame him for being upset about this. I would be too. I don't care what someone does, they really don't deserve to be the target of so much meanness, but again...that's on you. I suppose you have every right to devote your life to tearing someone to pieces and laughing about it.
I have been a weirdlinks fan for a long time. I never really got into reading Steve's blog. I just like his links and I find his commentary amusing (if sometimes misinformed). Yeah...I'm getting more than a little tired of having the site go down. I do sometimes get the feeling that it's for the purpose of getting money.
Personally, I think he has every right to make money off of his blog and I don't care what he does with it. It's not like he's running a non-profit or a corporation where we are all board members. It's really no one's business as long as the site stays up...which is why people would give him money. If he has excess, good for him.
I just wish he would be honest about it and keep the site up. I don't like being manipulated and I definitely visit his site less often than I used to. However, I really think this has gone too far on your end. Why do you have such a problem with him? Don't you have anything better to do?

It exposed Sybil's pattern of lying about how dreadfully poor she was in order to beg for handouts, conning people out of thousands of dollars over the course of a several years. Most of the donors were either unemployed or making a LOT less than that, and had assumed that Sybil was trying to survive on a few hundred a month.
ReplyDeleteIt came to light a couple years ago that Sybil (as we call her due to her propensity for posting under dozens of fake names) was lying about her income and is not remotely poor at all. She's raking in $3,000 tax-free every month and gets most of her medical care on the government's dime.
She runs out of money within a week of getting a $1,500 check because she pisses it away on things like expensive tires for her truck, a big-screen tv, boxed DVD sets and trips to the casino. And of course, she's harboring a lazy alcoholic who contributes little to the household besides grease and more second-hand smoke.
The "struggle life" as she calls it, is a BS ruse to get pity and cash from soft-hearted donors. Those donors never get thanked, and a few times, they've been accused of being "stalkers" and had their email addresses and Google Maps to their home addresses posted on the site with veiled attempts to "get them."
So Sybil's vindictive as well as hypocritical. Have you seen the hate video she posted attacking the sister-in-law who loaned her the money to move out of that crappy trailer in California? Sybil isn't grateful for the financial help. She believes she should be given handout after handout, despite her inability to control her own finances.
And of course, there's her inability to follow a doctor's orders to get her own health under control. And her relentless gay-bashing, some form of self-loathing that certain types take as encouragement to hate on gay people.
At 50, she refuses to grow up and take responsibility for her own life, her money, her health, etc. and she lives for scamming people out of money to finance her self-indulgent, unhealthy lifestyle.
We're tired of her immature, hypocritical ways. It's one thing to be crappy with your money, but it's another thing entirely to assume that other people should always bail you out.
